OCTOBER COUNTRY is a Celtic-influenced folk group that has performed throughout the Metroplex at pubs, music festivals, charity benefits and coffeehouses such as the Swiss Ave. Tour of Homes, Trinity Hall, RELEAF's annual benefit, and Dunn Brothers Coffee House. They play an eclectic mix of Scottish, Irish, and traditional tunes along with original and 70's-era folk / folk-rock music. Singing about moors and mountains, myths and legends, and everyone's search for love and meaning, their songs remind listeners of forgotten times and places. October Country sings songs to be listened to. Come, listen and enjoy!
The band is:
Casey Sledge (vocals and rhythm guitar) - Casey started writing songs and performing as part of a Christian coffeehouse band in the 70s. His musical influences include Gordon Lightfoot, Stan Rogers, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Barry McGuire and Annie Herring.
Shaddow Walter (lead guitar and occasional acoustic bass guitar) - Shaddow has been active in the local Celtic music scene as a session guitarist (where he occasionally sings and plays his own creations). He had been very patient waiting for Casey to decide to form October Country and after about 7 years of backing Casey in filks, sessions and anywhere else Casey decided to play was rewarded! His other alter ego is the Main Ears behind ShaddowFire Sound working with names like Spriggan, Ravens, AmberHawke, Faol Ban, and Brendana's Dream. He is also a rock, jazz and blues enthusiast and has been involved with music since the ripe old age of three years through church choirs, vocal and guitar, school choirs, and jamming at NTSU in the dorm.
October Country has a demo available as well as previous recordings by Casey. For booking, or demo requests call Casey Sledge at 972-801-1312 (days) or by e mail. The latest information about October Countrys performances can always be found at www.octobercountry.net
